The Deck of Mysterious Creations is a deck of cards that can be used to track and combine alchemical ingredients, essences, and reagents according to rules in the Tome of Alchemy. 

Various ingredients the characters might collect in the course of their adventures can be tracked using the cards, and when the time comes for experimentation, the cards allow the results of their alchemical research to be determined. The cards come in two different varieties, one for 5th edition D&D and one for 1st edition Pathfinder, but the rules are the same: the only difference between the versions is the stats on the monster cards (monsters are a prime source of vital essences).
